A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Julia Muniz is a collaborative and open-minded first-generation Brazilian storyteller living in Los Angeles advocating for JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) Storytelling in front of and behind the cameras.
Traveling and living abroad made me a more adaptable person to any environment, culture, and people. Multilingual in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, I am well-equipped to collaborate with clients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
ABOUT MY WORK
I love learning about a new culture. As a professional with more than 11 years of working experience who cares deeply about my craft, I’ve traveled to 10 countries and adapted to different situations, with connections that translated through my career in photography and live event/film/tv production.
My photos can be seen in more than 32 countries around the world while my work in Award-Winner films can be seen in 6 countries and Academy Award Qualifiers festivals. My script Too Shall Pass is a Filmmatic Drama Screenplay Awards (Season 6) Semifinalist and Creative World Awards Quarter-finalist.
Recently, I’ve been Slamdance Unstoppable's Programmer, a category created to highlight disabled filmmakers and reframe the narrative around accessibility in the industry.
I am also a TrendWatching’s Business of Purpose Member and like to invest my time sharing my experience by mentoring students from UCLA, New York Fashion Institute of Technology, UNC-Chapel Hill and American University.
